Zoho CRM Record Locking

Zoho have released record locking capabilities in their flagship Zoho CRM (early access mode). It always has been one of my bugbears that there was no easy way to lock records from any updates if the business required. Specifically on the Deals module, where, when not using Blueprints, users could (and would!) change stages at anytime where it was beneficial to themselves rather than adhere to the business processes. 


Of course course, at times mistake are made as well, but in more complex instances, with underlying scripts, webhook or API integrations, this can cause all kinds of data integrity issues causing issues with sales forecasting, expected revenue and closed won revenue.



Configure Record Locking

You can find the feature in SETTINGS|CUSTOMISATION|MODULES AND LAYOUTS. Click on the required module and go to Record Locking Configuration. You will need ot do this for every modules when required.

Select Configure Now, and you can customise how and when the records are locked.
